McDonalds and Target have announced that they are dropping egg supplier Sparboe Farms after an undercover video produced by animal rights activist group Mercy of the supplier facility became viral surrounded by accusations of animal cruelty.

I'm not for poking chickens with sharp sticks, or telling them how small there brains are to humiliate them, but really, they and there children-to-be are food.  The Sparboe Farms chickens wouldn't live at all where they not food (or the parents of food).

Now all of those chickens will die, there reason for existence is gone.

And what of the TheSparboe workers?  Out jobs.  Or are they sort of like chicken Nazis?  To be forever hunted in ther Argentinean hiding places?

Have some chicken wings and think it over, but be sure first the cows responsible for your blue cheese dressing were happy.

Haha did you ever see the episode of that old television series WKRP in Cincinnati in which  a plane-load of live turkeys is dropped out of a helicopter for a Thanksgiving promotion, only to have them all plummet to their deaths?

The results of a study released by Facebook indicate that, largely due to Facebook themselves, there are only 4.74 degrees of separation between people.  For people in the same country, that number goes down to three.

I want more separation, not less.

I'm not recommending anybody pick up the smoking habit, it is a damned serious addiction.  But I'm all for letting people of free will choose their own vices even if they lead to their ultimate demise.

There's an interesting WSJ article HERE about smoke shops who avoid the $5 plus NYC cigarette tax by rolling loose tobacco on site for the consumer, and the City's efforts to close that loophole.

[NoDo]  Prior to the common vernacular's rapid infestation by the phrase "thank you so much", the phrase "thank you" reigned near communicative perfection, alongside its somewhat informal but equally esteemed peer "thanks". How much thanks do I deserve for holding open a door or patronizing a delicatessen, "so much"? How much thanks then is deserved for rescuing a person from an abandoned well? Fortunately there are apparent social divides that prevent the same person who requests something with the term "gimea" from ever uttering "thank you so much", though this a small blessing.  [o.p.]
